in this video I'm gonna show you guys my top tips before leaving Japan so coming to Japan that trip goes by super fast and then at the last minute you realize oh I didn't get any souvenirs for anyone autumn at the airport where should I eat all these general tips that I just want to share with you guys in this video I've already provided so many other tips like what you should do when you arrive in Japan definitely check out that video but I figured I might as well just wrap it up in one nice bun and show you guys what to do before you leave Japan but before I continue if you guys want to see what I'm doing on the daily then definitely check out my Instagram account and if you want to help support the channel then definitely check out the samurai merch alright let's do this now this tip is for those of you who have early morning flights so a lot of the times your hotel will force you to check out by 10 11 or 12 o'clock in the morning one thing you can do is grind it out which I've done plenty of times but one option you can take is to actually go to an onsen in Tokyo instead of spending your last day in Tokyo trying to get around with all that luggage why don't you just go to a Japanese onsen in fact you can go 200 onsen who offer travel packages which includes the entrance fee as well as shuttle bus transfer plus the let you store your bags there while you're relaxing all day long now say if you're flying out of a Haneda you can check into the onsen at 11 a.m.
In the morning and check out 5 a.m. the next day and the earliest shuttle bus will get to the airport at 4:20 a.m. and the last one will get you to the airport about 5:40 now if you're flying out of Narita Airport you can get discount tickets which is cheaper than the regular entrance pass but you have to also pay for the shuttle buses separately and for Narita you can check in after 3 p.m. and stay until the next day up until 6 a.m. I don't know it just sounds like a good idea to hang out at once and all day before your flight alright so let's talk about returning your IC card to either your pasmo your Sarika or wherever else you got it from so a lot of people when they're here in Japan they get an IC card but when you're returning home you can actually cache those back in for 500 yen so if you want to save a little bit money then here's a spot somewhere to do it first of all if you have a G Suika card you're in luck you can get a refund at any JR station with a ticket office for example at Narita Airport terminal 2 it's just behind an oddity to express counter if you have any money remaining on the card you'll be roof on that balance plus 500 yen for the card but – a 220 yen processing fee now if you got a pasmo card you can return it at any non jr station like the K he nor K say lines yep it's that simple on to the next stop this woman I'm kind of excited to share with you guys because I recently discovered it it's a service called pocket change and if you're anything like me and you visit a country you end up with a lot of loose change in fact if you ever come to Japan you know that it's very much a cash based society so you end up with even more change and what's even pretty sweet is that you can take only like a few yen and you can convert it into usable funds back at home which a lot of standard money exchanges won't accept it's really the perfect solution let me show you how it works so I recently discovered this green magical machine that instantly changes bills and coins of various currencies into electronic money or vouchers that you can use in your home country blown away how awesome and easy to use it is first you choose a country where you want your yen to be converted into vouchers if your country isn't listed right away you can hit the more button for more currencies then based on your selected currency you can convert your yen for example in the US convert to reward links with shops like Amazon or simply get a voucher for spots like Target or Domino's I'm at RJ fan so let's go with that insert your currency including coins and machine counts it up then you press confirm and Zippity Zoo you get a receipt for your voucher and it's as easy as that look it even exchanges multiple currencies and allows you to convert a foreign currencies to Japanese yen for things like IC cards in fact this is one way you can charge your pasmo card or Suika card with foreign currency and for those of you who have a kind heart you can even donate the money to various charities like UNICEF so this machine is located at Narita Airport at Terminal one just behind the first floor visitor center but pocket change has machines located at multiple Airport through Japan as well as spots in a city like donkihote and Shibuya my home is fine don't worry I'll leave a link in the description so you can find the closest one to you when you're visiting Japan now you don't need to bring back that useless change home so now my favorites food spots Narita in her native airport have quite a few decent restaurants to choose from but I want to take you to one of my favorite spots in case you can't make a decision when I leave from Narita and I want to get my ramen fix on I head towards Tomita at terminal 1 I mean when's the next time you'll be able to get a dough full of ramen again this spot is known for its pork and fish based game and noodles which means the noodles are served separately from the dipping rock what you may not know is this broth is cooked more than 20 hours creating this magical carpet ride experience to mommy city it's rich texture elegant lightness finished off with a hint of yuzu what's nice is a super salt quite thick that has onions lots of lots of like chopped onions it's justice so deep flavors are amazing that is so deep now let's take a pork chop right there and let's just dip it in I would say is a dirty dirty Michael threw down on the regular ramen bowl wood cleaner show you soup but I recommend getting this game in and if you're looking for a vegan ramen then this is the spot t is Ton Ton they mainly have containment but if you're looking for something that go they also have been toes and sandwiches oh and for my vegetarian and vegan fans don't worry there's options at each of Airport just look for the signs so let me show you another one of my favorite spots at Haneda since we did ramen already let me show you something a little bit different so this spot is a traditional type of Japanese restaurant called yep goes in and located in the international terminal the store serves rice made with a traditional Japanese pot oh come on and it goes to these beautiful little dishes so I really wanted to take you guys to the ramen shop set the Gaea because you just love wrong but since we already did not eat that I figured I'd do something a little bit different also I wanted to take you sat at on thon but you've already seen that one in my Roppongi video so that's actually a pretty good food or place to so I'm taking you guys to the next best place called the yuccas in it's a very very like traditional style and Japanese restaurant so what they call it here's a fun as I said yet assortment of Japanese dishes some rice and miso soup and if you want to add on you can also get 10 pora you really want a Japanese meal and this visit thing might go about it but you know me guys I really like my fried varies I just couldn't help myself so instead I went with a gear cut so you can see it's already like stilling fall off and basically it's a Wagyu beef and you can see how its marbled with lovely tenderness and joy right there and it has kind of like the punko bread crust let's take the get cuts it and drop that in there drop it into some rice like that oh look at that that is a mouthful oh that is amazing it has it's like the little pockets of fat in there Marvel in with a meat which is really delicious yeah so you can't go wrong it even the rice here is quite nice and at Haneda Airport they have this a ramen food court that has three different ramen shops in one location it's pretty dope if you want to try three different types of ramen oh and before you continue on I wanted to mention that I've already done a video on vending machines and then Airport has some pretty cool ones so if you want to see that then check out that video I'll leave a link in the description alright now let's talk about luggage now after visiting Japan you may have collected a few items here and there and you might have more luggage than you expected this tip is specifically for you first of all there's a delivery service that will pick up your luggage from your hotel and deliver it directly to the airport which is super convenient for those of you who have a lot of luggage you usually have to send it out two to three days in advance and you can leave it at the airport for up to one week before your departure day there's quite a few different services but don't worry I'll make sure to leave a link of all of these different services as well as all of the other locations we've visited oh yeah there's another cool service for those of you who are traveling from a hotel to hotel in Japan a delivery service will actually come and pick up your luggage and deliver it to the next hotel which makes it super simple to travel alright so now let's talk about souvenirs everyone knows that coming to the airport there's a lot of places to get souvenirs to bring back home the thing is airports are usually a little bit more expensive than if you were to get the souvenirs in the city so I wanted to show you guys my top spots outside of the airport to get some souvenirs the quick and easy answer is to get something at the airport but we all know you're gonna have to pay a premium for it and you have a limited selection so let me quickly break down the two easiest options especially when you're in a time pinch the key here is to go to a shop that sells everything under the Rising Sun first we have donkey Aude which more than carries its weight random goods including those elusive KitKat's and random souvenir snacks look at all these options the second option is believe it or not an electronic store big camera in addition to electronics it has cosmetic products toys for the young ones I choose You Pikachu and even that Japanese Go juice sake as well as Japanese whiskeys also something to note these days Japanese whiskeys have been a hot item at the airport duty-free so sometimes they don't have any stock so just be careful and this one is a little tip between you and me what a lot of people don't know is that big camera provides next day airport delivery so instead of carrying all your souvenirs back to the hotel you can just have it delivered to the airport my kind of service so those are my spots in the city but I know sometimes you guys don't have enough time so let me show you around the airport itself the internet eat it and you have it so more time to kill just by the restaurant section there's a whole entire shopping mall area you have ABC Mar which is like a shoe store and then right here you have unlike that well that's ABC might as well shopping and check out this place if you're looking for a kimono or yukata or just something that's like handcraft made in Japan right before you leave you didn't have enough time then this is the spot it's called Yamato craft gallery because it is a smaller store in the airport they don't have a huge variety but in a selection that they do have this stuff is pretty cute well these Maiko is telling me other cute so I have to agree with her oh yeah Fuji sells do cut is in a summer as well alright so those are my tips I hope you guys liked it if you did help me out and hit that like button if you want to see what I'm doing on the daily then check out my Instagram account and if you want to see more of my cards and hit that subscribe button and the bail bun and I'll catch you guys in the next one
